Faculty Position in Chinese Language and Linguistics

After the Oct 15th deadline, the search committee has begun the screening process. Therefore we are no longer accepting additional application at this point.

The Department of East Asian Languages and Literature invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position in Chinese Language and Linguistics, beginning August 2010.  Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent at the time of appointment in Chinese Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition or Foreign Language Education.  Applicants  should also have experience in language teaching and native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English.  Teaching responsibilities are four courses a year, which include undergraduate Chinese language courses as well as graduate level courses in the appointee's area of specialization.  Other duties include supervision and training of graduate teaching assistants.  A commitment to scholarly research and service to the university and the field is expected.

Salary is competitive.
